"I am so sorry for your loss. May God test her soul. Praying for you and your family. "
Patricia A. Sellers, 80, of Springfield, passed forward from this life May 4, 2018 to a joyous reunion with family and friends. She was born June 6, 1937, the lovely daughter of Pete Marcum and Mabel (Marcum) Roberts, and step-daughter of Doug Roberts; the beloved mother to Rob Sellers, Diana (Jerry) Numbers, and Marcy Sellers; the proud grandmother of Courtney (Matt) Remsing, Kelly (Damien) Carroll, David and Dylan Numbers, the adoring great-grandmother of Aiden, Addison and Logan; and the cherished sister of Linda Oder. She was preceded in death by her father, her step father, her daughter, Marcy, and her grandson, Dylan, all waiting to welcome her home with open arms. An Ohio native, she graduated from Hamilton High School where she developed friendships sustained throughout her life, notably a seventy-four year relationship with her best friend, Faye. She was also a twenty year resident of Naples, Florida, where she chose to move because "everyone is happier where the sun is shining". Her favorite pastimes included playing tennis, traveling, dancing, reading, watching old movies and most of all, spending time with her family. She compared her cancer diagnosis to a tennis match, knowing she was up against a strong opponent but confident she could win, not giving up until her last breath. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her grace, her kindness, her strength, her bravery, her optimism, and her love of life. A Celebration of Life will be held at Ivey Funeral Home on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
