MUSCATINE, Iowa - Melissa Renée Bodman, 30, of Muscatine, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, May 6, 2018.

Melissa was born on November 13, 1987 in Redondo Beach, California, the daughter of John and Renee Watkins Bodman Jr.

Melissa graduated from Muscatine High School in 2005. She had her CNA and specifically worked with special needs patients. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her son, Rylan, and daughter, Hailey. She was a fun loving, caring person, who would help anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time with family.

Melissa is survived and lovingly remembered by her children; Rylan and Hailey Hazen; her parents, John and Renee Bodman Jr., of Muscatine; her siblings, John Bodman III and wife, Davina, of Houston, Texas, Nicole Bodman, and Joseph Bodman, both of Muscatine; her grandparents, Barney and Norma Mikel, and Charles Watkins, of Washington State; six nieces, Emily, Kallie, Coraline, and Adaline Bodman, Amelia King, and Halaya Arnold; as well as several aunts and uncles on the West Coast and Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Glenda Holt and Carol Watkins; her grandfathers, Ken Holt and John Bodman I; her great-parents, Ray and Edna Weatherly, Evelyn and Joseph Truitt, and Lilian Hall; two aunts, Julie Terpenning and Susan Watkins; and a cousin, Angie Bodman.
