Donald L. Williams

Donald L Williams, 85 of Ft. Collins, Colorado passed away peacefully on May 3, 2018.

Don was born on April 20, 1933 in Longmont, Colorado to Ted Williams and Mary Henry Williams. His mother died when Don was very young and his father married Johanna Hansen Williams, who raised Don. The family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where Don graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1951.

1952 Don married Patricia Patterson and to this union four children were born: Jackie, Mike, Rick and Tina. Patricia passed away in 1976. After getting reacquainted at their 25th Fort Collins High School Class reunion, Don married Helen (Garfield) Williams in 1978.

Don spent many years in Cheyenne, Wyoming, working for Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power Company, until moving to Fort Collins and working for Public Service Company of Colorado.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Helen Williams, his four children, Jacqueline Smits (Robert), Michael Williams (Rhonda), Richard Williams (Rita), and Christina Williams, all of Arizona. He is also survived by his stepchildren Steve Garfield (Deb), LeAnn Massey (David), and Greg Garfield, all of Fort Collins, Colorado.
In addition, Don is survived by his brother James (Gil) Williams (Patti) of Estes Park, Colorado, sister JoAn Nall (Dennis) of Fairplay, Colorado, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Patches.

Don was proceeded in death by his parents, his first wife Patricia, his sister Gladys Galloway and his stepson Gary Garfield.

Don was a passionate man who loved his family, friends and all animals. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, going to the movies, the Colorado Mountains and traveling. Don was a gentle and loving many who will be greatly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
