Jack Winfrey

SIGOURNEY-Jack Winfrey, age 79, of Sigourney, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney.
Jack was born February 14, 1939, in Sigourney, to Henry and Dorothy (Moore) Winfrey. He grew up in Sigourney and graduated from high school in 1957. On January 2, 1966, he married Donna Wessel in Seattle, Washington. The couple lived in Seattle, San Diego, San Jose, California and Westminster, Maryland before moving to Sigourney 17 years ago. Jack was a Marketing Manager for Black and Decker. He was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking drives, treasure hunting and spreading God's word.
Survivors include three children: Ramah Lee Winfrey Ross and husband Larry Ross of Delta, Gary W. Winfrey and wife Melissa of Hanover, Pennsylvania and Shari Winfrey Drew of Braymer, Missouri; four grandchildren: Jenny, Hunter, Chris and Courtney; two great grandchildren: Michael and Maia. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Donna in 2012; daughter: Lyn Rushton; great granddaughter: Rylee; brothers: Henry "Hank" Rhodes Winfrey and William "Bill" Winfrey and sister: Dorothy Elaine Winfrey.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Sigourney Christian Church, with Pastor David Welch officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until noon on Tuesday at the church.

A memorial fund has been established for Keokuk County Hospice or the Community Outreach Center. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Jack and his family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
