October 3, 1954 - May 12, 2018

Ronna Jo Denato, 63, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m, Friday, May 18, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m, until the time of the services at the funeral home. A private family inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Ronna was born October 3, 1954, to R. Gene and Minnie Jo (Muilenburg) McClelland in Marshalltown. She graduated from Newton High School in 1972. On December 2, 1973, Ronna was united in marriage to Mark Denato in Newton, IA. To this union four children were born: Josh, Jordan, Ashley, and Heather. Mark and Ronna made Marshalltown their home for the past 35 years, where Ronna dedicated her time to raising her kids and taking care of her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, baking, reading, and drinking lattes. Ronna loved spending time with her grandchildren and always attended all of their events and extracurricular activities. She was a member of the Plymouth Brethren in Des Moines, IA, and also had a sewing group with her sisters, Ann and Nicki.

Ronna will be missed dearly by her husband of over 44 years, Mark; four children: Josh (Amy) Denato, Jordan Denato, Ashley Brown, and Heather Denato, all of Marshalltown; six grandchildren: Cole and Tayte Nauman, Harper Denato, Easton and Chester Brown, and Galilee Denato, all of Marshalltown; three sisters: Nicki (John) Bleakney of Mason City, IA, Ann (Curt) Haakinson of Vermillion, SD, and Mary (Steve) Pearson of Newton; mother-in-law Helen Denato of Marshalltown; brother-in-law Tony (Mary) Denato of Marshalltown; and several nieces and nephews. Ronna was preceded in death by her parents, R. Gene and Minnie Jo McClelland.
