Richard "Dick" Dean Aitken

Richard (Dick) Dean Aitken, 89. 0f Keokuk, Iowa, died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

Dick was born on December 25, 1928, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Peter and Jane Thompson Aitken. He married Marita R. Fishback on August 30, 1953, and to this union one daughter was born, Mary Joy Aitken Philp. Marita preceded him in death on May 14, 1992. He later married Garnet L. Quick Buck on September 19, 1993. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2015.
Dick graduated from Keokuk Senior High School in the class of 1946. He served in the United States Army 1950 to 1952 in Germany and in Active Reserve 1952 to 1957. He retired from Roquette America, Inc. as Electrical Engineer in August, 1992. Dick was a member of the Church of All Saints, Elks Lodge #106, and American Legion Post #41.

Disk is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Joy and James Philp of Keokuk, one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Curtis and Erin Philp, and one great-granddaughter, Eliza Jane Philp, all of Alexandria, Virginia. Also surviving are two nephews and two nieces and their families.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, David Lee Aitken, and his three sisters, Jessie Foulkes, Jeannette Dunn and Maxine Thompson, and two nieces.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 14, 2018, at the Church of All Saints. Visitation will be at the church from 9 AM until time of services. Burial with full military rites will be in Keokuk National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Church of All Saints or Keokuk Animal Services.
