Philip J. Pfister, Sr.
September 22, 1934 - May 8, 2018

Philip J. Pfister, Sr., age 83, of the Holiday City West section of Berkeley Township died on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at home. Born in Bayonne, he lived there until moving to Lavallette in 1995. He settled in Holiday City West in 2006.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Pfister was a telecommunications installer, first for NJ Bell, and later for IBEW Local 3, New York. While a resident of Bayonne, he was an Usher at St. Vincent dePaul RC Church for many years, and was also a Scout Master for Cub Scout Pack 25. He was the President of the So. Jersey Chapter of the Local Union 3 IBEW Retirees Association from 2000-2017.

He was predeceased by his wife, Alice, in 1988. He is survived by his sons, Edward and Philip Jr. of Bayonne, Donald and his wife Karen of Lafayette, NJ, and Peter and his wife Leah of Dingman's Ferry, PA; his companion, Sandra Penns-Sperber; and two sisters, Julia Shea and Loretta Hermann.

Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 11:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, with interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, No. Arlington.
