Marion "Mickey" Doris (McCoubrey) Ostrander, 90, of Kingston, NY, passed away on May 7, 2018. She was born April 19, 1928 in Windham, NY to the late Samuel and Florence (Conley) McCoubrey. She was the wife of the late Earl "Ozzie" Ostrander. They wed on February 2, 1957 at Old Dutch Church in Kingston. Earl predeceased her on February 23, 2013.
Marion worked as a Supervising Public Health Nurse for Ulster County for over 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of Old Dutch Reformed Church. She served on the board of visitors of the Hudson River Psychiatric Center for several years. She was a member of the NYS Nurses Association, Ulster County Association for Mental Health, and the Town of Ulster Library Association. She was also recognized for serving on the Ulster County Community Service Board and Volunteer Services and she served on the advisory board for the Ulster County Office for the Aging.
She was a graduate of Windham Ashland Jewitt High School class of 1945 and she then continued on to earn her bachelor's degree in nursing from Hartwick College School of Nursing, graduating in 1950.
Marion is survived by her sister in law, Janet S. McCoubrey of Kingston, her nieces: Cathy McCoubrey of Kingston, Nancy Ferrelli of Kingston, Pamela Zambrano of Ridgefield Park, NJ and her nephew, Samuel C McCoubrey, Jr. of Kingston. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be at Decker Funeral Home, 5312 Route 23, Windham, NY on June 9th at 1:00pm. Friends may call on June 9th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Ashland.
The family suggests instead of flowers memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association,
