John Phillip McMillin Sr., was born to Oliver and Bertha White McMillin on June 8, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana. John was the 10th of 12 children and obtained his education in the Indianapolis Public School System. John attended Arsenal Technical High School.
John, at an early age was baptized in Jesus name at Jerusalem Temple and served his country in the U.S. Navy, and worked as a CNA at Rosewalk Healthcare.
John, in 1965 married Judith Brown and to this union was born two children, Marjorie and John Jr.
John Phillip McMillin Sr., departed this life on May 12, 2018 at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 27 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, 9 siblings and 1 grandson. John leaves to cherish his memory: daughter Marjorie Antoinette Hardaway, son John Phillip (Kenya) McMillin Jr., two sisters; Rosetta Mines (#11) and Bertha (Timothy) Brown (#12), companion, Delores Watson, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
