Charles H Mattison

It is with profound sadness that we marked the passing of Charles H. Mattison on May 15, 2018. A truly loving father and grandfather, Chuck left this life peacefully with his children at his side.

Born in Lewistown, Montana on September 6, 1931, Chuck was the youngest child, and only son, of Elmer and Aurelia Herfert Mattison. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters - Blanche Barnwell, Annabelle Beerup, Sue Lancaster, Jeanne Tyrrell, Dorris Gamell and Zelda Gregory. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Mattison Schmidt and her husband Dan, his son Chad Mattison and his grandchildren Colby Mattison, Lauren Schmidt and Sydney Mattison.

After graduating from the University of Montana, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, Chuck served in the Army as a commissioned officer, valiantly fighting for his country as a decorated helicopter pilot and respected commanding officer to his troops in Vietnam and Korea. After his military service he owned a real estate company in Kirkland, Washington.

Despite his notable accomplishments, Chuck's pride and delight came from his family and he most loved the opportunities to be together and celebrate. In the spirit of his love for a gathering of family and friends, we now raise our hearts and glasses to toast a most amazing man - Cheers! His unconditional love and support will be so very missed, but he lives on in our hearts.
