Gerrod C. Bright, Sr.
June 6, 1942 - May 13, 2018

Gerrod Cleveland Bright, Sr, 75, transitioned peacefully from this life to be with his Heavenly Father, on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Saint Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born in Newport News, Virginia to Rozella Perry Bright and Gatewood Cleveland Bright on June 6, 1942. He is survived by Florence his wife of 56 years, two children, Danielle, of Cairo, Egypt and Gerrod II of Minneapolis, Minnesota, three grandchildren Jordan, MaKenzie and Aja and one great granddaughter, Luna, three nephews, one niece and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia.

Gerrod completed his early education in the Hampton City Schools in Hampton, Virginia. Following his graduation from Phenix High School, he served eight years in the USAF. He received an honorable discharge and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Norfolk State College in Norfolk, Virginia. After his retirement in 2005, Gerrod enjoyed listening to music, relaxing, traveling and visiting with family and friends in Indianapolis, other parts of the country and out of the country. Visitation will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm with Celebration of Life at 1:00pm Monday, May 21, 2018 in Crown Hill Funeral Home 700 W. 38th St. Indianapolis.
