In loving memory of

Michael Gonzalez
June 12, 1992 - May 23, 2018

WESLACO - Michael Gonzalez, 25, of Weslaco, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was born on June 12, 1992 to Melissa Casas and Miguel Gonzalez of Weslaco and raised in Dallas, Texas.

He graduated from Weslaco High School in 2010. Michael's passion for media started at a very young age with the love of meteorology and news. His passion for media would lead him down a path to the greatest dream he could never have imagined. He freelanced for WHS by filming, taking photos of sports events and other high school functions. After graduation Michael worked briefly for the local news station as a News Editor but, his heart was set on bigger opportunities, he moved back to the DFW area. DFW was a place where he knew he could embark in full scale media ventures. His passion led him to work for UAN Entertainment as an Artist Manager, JKruz 97.9 The Beat DFW as a General Manager, Interactive Digital Media Specialist and The Beat Rochester 105.5 Head of Digital Communications.

Michael is survived by his mother Melissa Casas, and brother Daniel Salvador Moreno both of Weslaco Texas, father Miguel Gonzalez, and sister Faith Gonzalez both of Little Elm, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his uncle Marcelino Casas Jr. and grandfather Marcelino Casas Sr.

Michael will be best remembered as a person who was talented, independent, focus driven and willing to help anyone who crossed his path. His work ethic was impeccable, and his selfless acts did not go unnoticed. He was loved by many and yet gone to soon.

On behalf of the Casas and Gonzalez families we would like to thank the DFW Media and Radio Industry for supporting Michael throughout his career. The Casas and Gonzalez families would also like to thank everyone for the love, support, thoughts and prayer during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements pending.
