Fritiof "Fritz" E. Swanberg
February 18, 1923 - May 25, 2018

Age 95 of Forest Lake passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 25, 2018.

Fritz is preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters.

He is survived by wife, Rosetta; daughters, Kathleen (Larry) Peterson, Linda (Robert) Rygh; grandchildren, Kristen Tasker, James Peterson, Lauren Fales, Kelly Rygh, Anna Jacobson; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many other relatives & friends.

Fritz was a proud WWII veteran and successfully completed 51 bombing missions as part of a B-24 crew over Europe. The 376th Bomb Group was the most decorated Bomb Group in WWII. After he completed his service, Fritz owned a Pyrofax Propane Gas Distributorship and eventually became the COO of Pyrofax in Houston, TX. He was a longtime member of the American Legion and Rotary. Fritz was a wonderful husband to Rosetta for over 73 years, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather & friend; he was a caring man who looked after his family and their welfare. In his final years, he earned the love and respect of all the residents and caregivers at Cherrywood Pointe Assisted Living.

A Celebration of Fritz's Life 11 AM Thursday, June 28th with visitation beginning one hour prior at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1250 S Shore Dr., Forest Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Fairview Lakes Hospice or Forest Lake American Legion Honor Guard in honor of F.E. Swanberg.
