In loving memory of

Mable Irene Hall
July 3, 1924 - May 29, 2018

Mable I. Hall 93, of Keokuk, IA passed away Tuesday May, 29, 2018 at Montebello Healthcare Center, where she had been a resident for the past three years.

Mable was born July 3, 1924, the daughter of Grover and Bessie Merfen Horton in Wyaconda, MO. Mable was the last remaining of 14 siblings. Mable married Charles H. Hall on July 11, 1944 in Kahoka, MO and had been married for 67 years until his passing on June 30, 2011. From their marriage, a son was born John C. Hall who also preceded Mable in passing, August 25, 2017.

Mable was employed by Hoernor Box Company for 30+ years, until her retirement. Mable was a member of the Wyaconda Christian Church growing up and also a member of First Christian Church in Keokuk.

Mable loved gardening, cooking and baking, which she did at every holiday, where family would gather. Even if it wasn't a holiday, you could not walk through her door without being fed. Mable also enjoyed bowling back in the day, was on a league at Arrowhead Bowl and won some tournament championships. She enjoyed camping with her husband, had purchased a camper and spent a lot of time at the campground in Arbela, MO. Cannot go without mentioning but, Mable loved to gamble, spending much time at the casinos, when she was able and also loved her scratch off tickets. Aside from all mentioned, Mable's love for all of her family was beyond measure. She was loved by all and gave so much love to everyone she came in contact with. She will be dearly missed. Even though many hearts are broken, we can find peace knowing that our beloved is with her Lord and Savior, her husband and her son.

Mable is survived by her granddaughter, Stephanie (John) Jones of Nikolaevsk, AK, great grandchildren, Veronica, John (J.J.), Crystal, Jacob and Shayne, many nieces and nephews. Special mention is niece Lisa who Mable often referred to as her daughter; Lisa was named by her aunt at birth and had spent her entire life with her. While Mable was a resident at Montebello for the past three years, Lisa always found the time, most daily to visit and make sure her aunt was getting the care and love that she so had given to others and of course to make sure she did not go without her scratch off tickets. Also others that were so dear and special to her were Jeffrey Keller and family, Marlon Keller and family, Haley & Randy Beelman and family, Laney Miller all of Keokuk, Lori & John Foster, Jill, David, Josh, Jake Limbo, Kaeli Lawson, Howard and Dorothy Thomas of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Nancy Nevels and family of Hometown, IL.

A visitation and celebration of her life will be Monday, June 11, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at DeJong-Greaves Funeral Home at 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk, IA.

A graveside service will be held at Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00 am.

Memorials may be made to Wyaconda Christian Church or First Christian Church of Keokuk, IA.
