Sophie was the sweetest kitty we have ever known. She spent all of her 14 1/2 years with us except for her first 8 weeks when she was in the foster home before we adopted her. When we went to pick her up she was just this tiny little white kitten with black ears and tail. So adorable! She absolutely stole our hearts! We brought her home to meet her new older sister Roxy, and while it took some adjustment, they eventually grew accustom to each other and like any siblings, would play at times and fight at other times.
Sophie was always a sweet and gentle kitty and loved to snuggle. She would often climb up for a snuggle with her goal being to get her face as close as possible to your face. She would grab on to your shirt or neck (ouch!) with her little paws to keep from sliding down and would purr up a storm. Her purrs were so loud that others in the room could hear them! With the purrs sometimes there were drools, so you knew she was truly happy when you got whiskers in your face with purrs and drools. She also loved her early morning snuggles. I would wake up to her climbing up for a snuggle at 3 or 4 in the morning and she would lay on my chest and purr and lick my nose and chin. I miss those nose and chin kisses!
Sophie's favorite spot was under the bench in front of the heater vent. In the winter she would curl up in a ball right next to the vent blocking half of it and filling her thick soft fur with warm air. She also loved her spot on the guest bed - it was really HER bed. She would lay in there when she needed some quiet time away from the family, but she was still always happy to snuggle if we came looking for her.
Our sweet angel Sophie is missed desperately by her whole family. The house seems emptier without her and quieter without her purrs.
Sweet Sophie, we miss your sweet little face, your thunderous purrs, and your soft warm snuggles. We miss your unique personality and all the joy your brought to our lives each day. We love you always and you will be forever in our hearts. Kisses, hugs, and love from Mama, Papa, and your big sister Roxy.
