Audrey Ramona Morlan, daughter of Warren C. Robbins and Mildred Ameta Karber, was born September 25, 1933 in Carroll, Iowa and died May 11, 2018 at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 84. Audrey attended rural school north of Scranton and graduated Scranton High School in 1951. She was united in marriage with Richard Lavern Morlan February 17, 1951 at the Church of Christ in Scranton. They were the proud parents of Ken, Peg, John, and David. Audrey and Richard farmed south of Scranton, moving north of Ralston in 1962 and later to her childhood Dillavou farm in 1983. Audrey was a very active partner in their farming career. She raised over 200 chickens, selling her eggs in town with Saba's Bakery a faithful customer. Her family remembers the many chickens they dressed at home. One of Audrey's most successful interests and actual loved, was raising and showing purebred Hampshire sheep. She won many awards throughout Iowa and neighboring states. Audrey was well known as a very talented third generation shepherd. When she and Richard decided to retire from the sheep business, the sale was held at the Greene County Fairgrounds because their business acumen and quality of sheep attracted many from near and far. They operated as the "Morlan Hampshires". Audrey was a busy wife and mother but made time to sew, garden, fish and hunt. Her sons have precious memories of hunting, and bagging their first deer with her nearby. She enjoyed cooking which was a blessing to her family! For several years she and Richard played Ten Point Pitch with their card friends. Audrey also enjoyed her neighborhood club. The couple spent many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona, making many new friends. Just four years ago they stopped making that journey to Arizona. Audrey suffered severe heart problems and was hospitalized in Arizona for heart by-pass surgery. Life was not quite the same for her and in 2016, Richard and Audrey moved to Swan Place in Carroll to slow down a bit and enjoy assisted living. Audrey was preceded in death by her father Warren Robbins and mother Mildred Karber Dillavou; step- father Frank Dillavou; brothers: Bobby Dillavou; Fred Robbins; Joe Robbins; and Jim Robbins; and sister Ruth Robbins. She will always be in the hearts of her husband of 67 years, Richard; children: Ken Morlan (Janice) of Scranton; Peg Gannon of Jefferson; John Morlan of Platte City, MO; and Dave Morlan (Shelly) of Woodward; grandchildren: Tim Morlan (Nelea) of Ankeny; Angie Calzada (Tommy) of Georgetown, TX; Andy Morlan (Erica) of Johnston; Becky Faris (Jon) and Richie Heater all of Hubbard; Nick Morlan (Krista) of Aurora, CO; David Schlicht (Whitney) of Ogden; Kelly Allison (Joe) of Ankeny; Stacy Stream (Jeff) of Jefferson; Nicole Richardson (Terry) of Pella; Michael Morlan (Valerie) of Ankeny; Austin Strother of Olathe, KS; and Jordan Moeller of Woodward; great-grandchildren: Reece and Lucas Morlan; Elia, Liam and Coen Calzada; Madison, Blake, and Alivia Morlan; Nate Faris; Emily Morlan; Olivia and Avah Allison; Brooklyn and Brody Schlicht; Nicholas and Wyatt Stream; and Ethan and Lincoln Morlan; her brother Dick Robbins of Perry; sister-in-law Jan Robbins of Jefferson; other relatives and many friends.
