Elva M. Thompson, 88, of Camanche, passed away, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at her home in Camanche.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, June 8, 2018 at the St. Mark's United Methodist Church - Camanche. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Troxel, Mark Mulderink, Martin Kearney, Curt Pendleton, Derek Birely, Carter Mulderink, and Adam Paysen. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the service time at the church. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Elva Marie Hellweg was born on May 25, 1930 the daughter of Gutav and Agatha (Terkelsen) Hellweg. She was a graduate of Camanche High School. She married Alvin Thompson on June 26, 1949 in Camanche.
Elva worked at Woolworths, Wyndcrest Nursing Home, the Clinton Garment Factory and at Burman's. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She loved crocheting, reading, playing solitaire and bingo, and spending time with her family.
Elva is survived by her husband: Alvin of Camanche; her daughter: Lori (Larry) Pendleton of Camanche, her son: Randy Thompson of Camanche; 6 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Dennis, two brothers, and one sister.
