Pearl Mae Als, 95, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mason City, Iowa. She was born January 13, 1923, in Ackley, Iowa, to Henry and Lulu (Kreimeyer) Wolf. Pearl received her education from Hansell and Hampton schools. She was united in marriage to Harold Als on November 2, 1945, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hampton. Pearl farmed with her husband Harold. She was a lifetime member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hampton, where she was involved in church activities. Pearl was also a member of the Good Luck Club, Butterfly Girls and Hampton Senior Center. She is survived by her son Jerry (Vicki) Als of Mason City, daughter-in-law Linda Als of Mason City, sister-in-law Donna Wolf of Hampton, grandchildren Lori (Phil) Meyering of Clear Lake, Scott (Molly Bing) Als of Ames, Casey (Karen) Als of Galt, California, Kelly Als of Mason City, Iowa, great grandchildren Anthony Meyering, Quinten Als, Keenan Als, Gavin Als, Ella Als, Madden Als and Kennedy Als. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, son Thomas, sisters Karyl Harkema, Elva Lou Lindaman and brother Maurice Wolf.

"I have many fond memories of my Aunt Pearl. She would graciously host me during the summer and I would visit her farm and play with my cousins. Wonderful memories. My condolences to all of her family. "
"I remember when my daughter was born at the Mason City hospital. I was returning to the hospital to see her and her mother. I had stopped at the first stop-light on highway 65 on the south edge of Mason, when this little lady in the passenger-seat of the car next to me rolled down her window, stuck half her body out and waved at me to roll down my window. She shouted out, "Did you have your baby?" I replied yes, and she shouted out congratulations... that was my first introduction to this loving and caring couple. We became friends back in the early 80's and I found myself always smiling if I ever saw that happy, loving lady. Hampton and the region are poorer with her passing.
