Lois "Jean" Schneider
June 14, 1929 - June 8, 2018

Lois Jean Schneider, 88, of Keokuk, passed away at 11:20 PM Friday, June 8, 2018, at Unity Point-Keokuk.

Jean was born June 14, 1929, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Howard Agne and Icyl Pearl Smith Bank. She was united in marriage to John Leo Schneider on June 12, 1948, in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2012.

Jean lived all her life in Keokuk except for twenty years in Branson, Missouri. In her earlier years she attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was formerly active in St. Mary's P.T.A., with Girl and Boy Scout troops, and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.

Jean is survived by five children, Janet (Fred) Grams of St. Louis, Missouri, Jack (Jan) Schneider of Huntley, Illinois, Jeff (Kaye) Schneider of Hollister, Missouri, Jane Legan of Keokuk, and Dick Schneider of Warsaw, Illinois; a sister Billie Kall of Westerville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Larry Schneider, five siblings, Millie (Dale) Boose, Dick Bank, Robert (Ellen) Bank, Mary Bank, and Ray Bank, four brothers-in-law, John Kall, Bob (Lil) Schneider, Dick (Marg) Jones, and Joe (Betty) Schneider, sister-in-law Helen Schneider, in-laws Bernard (Bertha) Schneider

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 1212 Concert Street with Rev. Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial will follow in Keokuk National Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 12, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 at DeJong-Greaves at 1212 Concert Street

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
