"Wendell always brought a smile to the room, his dry humor made the boring District Review meetings for Honda fun. I especially enjoyed our annual wagers on the Colorado vs Nebraska football games. I won only because I got Wendell, in a weak moment, to give me the point spread. Nebraska would win the game but I got to collect the bet which most often was a bottle of my favorite Burbon, Knob Creek. Vance, Rick Koepsel, and I would constantly try to pull pranks on Wendell. He described us as a pack of wolves with him being a moose that was run into deep snow where the wolves could walk on the hard pack surface and nip at the ears of the stranded moose. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and I consider myself blessed for the times I spent with him. Roger Shady"
