January 10, 1957 - June 6, 2018
On June 6th, God gained another angel, Jeff Bergeson. Jeff, 61, was a lifetime resident in the Ames area. He was born to Bob and DeAnn Bergeson on January 10, 1957. He was the second of five boys. Jeff graduated high school in 1975. After graduation he served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. One could always find Jeff volunteering to help others, putting others before himself, and seeking guidance in a well-read bible. He married his one true love, Karen Lea Bergeson in 1989. He is survived by his beloved wife and seven children. The oldest, Clint married to Sarah with sons Hyas and Ole. Tanya (Killian) married to Fredrick with children Emma, Elijah, and Gabriel. Craig with Whitney, children Mila and soon to be baby boy B, and younger children, Scott, Sara, James, and Ross. He is also survived by his parents, and Karen Lea's parents, Floyd and Marian Ross, brothers David (Susie), Mark (Wendy), and Paul (Tracey) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeff is preceded in death by his older brother Craig, his grandparents Benjamin and Florence Bergeson, and Charlotte and Glenn Smith, Uncles Kenney and Dick. A private family service will be held at Saint Cecilia and a celebration of life open to all will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames, Iowa at 1:30pm on June 17th, 2018. All are welcome to come and share memories of the wonderful life of Jeff Bergeson.
