James Brooke Barstad
September 18, 1963 - June 10, 2018

James Brooke Barstad, age 54 of Estill Springs, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 10, 2018. He was born in Estill Springs on September 18, 1963 to Clay Barstad and Patricia Barstad Tabor. After serving in the United States Marine Corp, Brooke was an auto-mechanic in Georgia most of his adult life and then returned to Tennessee to help out on his father's farm. Brooke was a kind and gentle soul who loved his family and friends more than anything. He enjoyed fishing and participating in Field Trials with his Brittany dogs. Brooke is preceded in death by his wife, Kim Barstad. He leaves behind his daughter, Hannah Shelby Barstad of Chula, Georgia; father, Clay D. (Carol) Barstad Sr of Estill Springs; mother, Patricia (Ernie) Tabor of Estill Springs; loving companion, Katina Brady of Estill Springs; brothers, Dane Barstad of Estill Springs, Russell (Kathy) Barstad of Coolidge, Georgia, and Clay (Melonie) Barstad of Cookeville; half-brothers, Christopher Barstad and Joe (Sherry) Barstad, both of Tullahoma; step-brothers, Mark (Tracy) Tabor of Morrison, Dossett Lee (Sharon) Rogers of Smyrna, Wade (Kristy) Rogers of Belvidere, Carlton Ross (Joy) Rogers of Belvidere; and step-sisters, Kim (Pat) Sissom of Manchester, Suzanne (Clay) Fanning of Winchester. Visitation will be from 1-4 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Winston Tipps officiating.
