In loving memory of

Karen Erickson
September 26, 1938 - June 11, 2018

My lady, Karen (Bohn) Erickson, went to our Heavenly Father on Monday, June 11, 2018. With the strength and determination, Karen battled various types of cancer for 29+ years, until she was called home. Born on September 26, 1938, she was adopted by Herbert and Dorthey (Dane) Bohn. Karen graduated from Winona Senior High and then attended secretarial school. On March 27, 1965 she married the love of her life, Harold Erickson. Karen worked as a secretary for the Park Recreation Board, and shortly after the birth of their first child, became a stay at home mom. She loved children and began watching others. In 1991 she began working for Steakshop catering, where she worked until retirement in 2001. Karen and Harold enjoyed traveling with their beloved dogs to field trials across the area. She enjoyed walks around the neighborhood and going for car rides. Karen was also known for her wonderful banana bread that friends would often receive on their birthdays. Karen will be deeply missed by her husband of 53 years, Harold; children, David Erickson and Pamela (Larry) Schindler; sister, Mechelle (Arnold) Nelson; sister-in-law, Janice Gady; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Raymond Gady. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2018 at Central Lutheran Church led by Rev. Mike Zaske and Rev. Jeffrey Franko. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, June 14 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, and one hour prior to the service at the church, Friday. A private family burial will be in Cedar Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family for a donation to the Eagles Cancer Telethon. Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, is assisting the family with arrangements. She was a lady.
