Richard M. Purington, 71, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away June 12, 2018. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 12, 1946 and was a graduate of Garfield High in New Jersey. Rich worked in the Roofing Industry for Standard Roofing in Morristown, NJ, and locally, Advanced Inc and Hayes Roofing, both in Ft Myers, FL He had a passion for traveling, boating, dancing, theater and donating to the ASPCA and Relay for Life.
He is survived by his children, Ronald R. (Audrey) Purington and Susan J. (Rob) Taylor; grandchildren, Brandon LeRoy, Breanna LeRoy, Bradlie Ellis-Hufnagle, Jason Taylor, Amanda Taylor and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 2:00pm on Saturday June 23, 2018 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
