In loving memory of

Gennaro "Uncle Joe" Pacilio
May 4, 1921 - June 11, 2018

GENNARO A. "JOE" PACILIO
Born May 4, 1921 - Deceased June 11, 2018
Hollywood, FL (Formerly of Staten Island, NYC)

In 1921, Gennaro made the long voyage at two months old to America from Italy. As of June 11, 2018, at 97 years old, Gennaro is making his last voyage to reside in the kingdom of heaven to be with the love of his life, Mish.

Gennaro, known as Joe or Uncle Joe, served in the Army in the Pacific theater during WW-2. Upon his return, he met and married fellow New Yorker, Michiko Hirata and were happily married for 51 years. Although they had no children of their own, Joe never lacked for nieces and nephews to love. His kindness and concern for his extended family was always felt.

During Joe's 97 years, he had many jobs and interests. He retired from the NYC Sanitation Dept. and went onto retire from the Loft Seed Co. His interest in watch repair led him to collect, repair and sell watches as a side business. Both Mish and Joe were avid bowlers most of their adult lives. The couple bowled in leagues throughout the NYC circuits. Joe became well known in the 1960's as "TV Joe". Joe bowled in the early professional bowling tours with numerous 300 games to his credit. Joe also enjoyed boating and golfing.

Joe was a long time member of the Labetti Post on Staten Island. He held many titles at the Post until his move to Florida in 2008.

Gennaro is survived by his sister Louise Mazza and two sister-in-laws, Muguette Pacilio & Mary Ann Roda. Gennaro leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Above all, Joe was extraordinarily kind, generous with his time, a great story teller and could recall details from his entire life. He was happiest when he was spending time with his friends and family and we were always grateful for every moment we had with him.
We will always love and cherish the memory of our Gennaro forever...
