MATTHEW DAVID MORRIS, 17, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Matt was born on August 18, 2000 and was a 2018 graduate of Port Charlotte High School where he was a member of the JROTC program and was scheduled to leave for Army basic training in Fort Sill, OK.
Matt is survived by his mother, Tracy Morris and fiancé Richard Amend of Port Charlotte, his sister Makenzie Morris of Port Charlotte; his father, Marc Morris of Durango, CO; Grandfather, John Filimon of Port Charlotte; Aunt Kelli and Uncle Stephen Worobel of North Port; Aunts, Donita Fragale of Durango, CO; Janet Walker of Port Charlotte and Helen Fisher of Elyria, Ohio
He leaves behind many family members and friends to reminisce about his love of fishing, mudding and his truck. He was known by many as the class clown who could put a smile on everyone's face. He loved working at Harpoon Harry's where he made several good friends. Matt touched many lives and will surely be missed.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service for Matt at the Life Port Church located at 390 Flamingo Blvd, North Port on Monday, June 18th from 6 to 8 pm. At 8:00 pm, we invite everyone to participate in a special tribute to Matt.
