In loving memory of

Jerome "Jerry" Goodwin
July 18, 1938 - June 18, 2018

Goodwin, Jerome "Jerry" C.
Passed away peacefully Monday morning at the age of 79, he was a loving husband, father, and friend. Born in Takoma Park, Maryland to Marion "Mutt" and Ruth Goodwin on July 18, 1938, he leaves behind the love of his life for 57 years, Shirley Goodwin and his six children that he loved so dearly, Kimberly (Jerry) Caldwell, Donna (Gregory) Hamasian, Dennis (Heather) Goodwin, Laura Baldwin, Patrick (Jennifer) Goodwin, and Andrew (Mary Elizabeth) Goodwin. He was a proud Grandfather of his 18 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and brother, Marian Bartlett-Brumley and Kenneth Goodwin and was pre-deceased brother Thomas Goodwin. The Day prior to his passing, Father's Day, he was blessed to hear that his fifth great grandchild was born. This made his last day with us a truly special one. He was a Die-Hard Marine, a Loving Husband, a Caring Father, and a very Proud Grandfather. But most of all, he was a shining example of forgiveness and unconditional love.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lemon Bay Funeral home on Saturday, June 23rd at 11:00 am located at 2 Buchans Landing, Englewood, FL 34223

"I remember Mr. Goodwin's devotion to the Washington Redskins, his having Redskins' season tickets (during the bad times, good times and bad times again), and attending a Redskins vs. Giants game with Dennis when Mr. Goodwin caught the flu. As a fellow devoted Redskins fan, he and I will be waiting for the return of those good times, and he will have one of the best seats from above. RIP."
