Floriss Jane Stamp, 88, of Garwin, IA, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018, at Garwin United Methodist Church in Garwin. Interment will be in Crystal Cemetery, rural Gladbrook. Floriss Jane Stamp was born August 13, 1929, in Marshalltown, IA, to Henry and Freida (Busch) Stamp. She attended Spring Creek #8 Country School and Gladbrook High School, graduating in 1947. Floriss was a homemaker and baby caretaker in many homes in the Garwin-Gladbrook area. She has stayed close to many of these families through the years. Floriss also cared for her parents in their later years. She was confirmed and baptized in 1947 in the Peace Church of Gladbrook, later transferring to Garwin Methodist Church where she was treasurer for some years and member of the Crusaders Sunday School class. Floriss was a very active Legion Auxiliary member and receiving her 60-year membership award. She held many offices, including many years of Garwin Auxiliary Treasurer. Floriss liked to travel, going to South America, the Holy Land, and Germany, also going to many National Auxiliary Conventions around the United States. She enjoyed doing embroidery work, crocheting, and music (waltzes and polkas), also dancing. Floriss taught herself to play the cord organ.

Floriss is survived by one sister, Ethel Lucht of Gladbrook; sister-in-law Verna Stamp of Garwin; five nephews, Keith (Sandy) Stamp of Monticello, IA, Kevin (Marcia) Stamp of Toledo, IA, Dale (Therese) Lucht of Allenstown, PA, Dennis Lucht of Garwin, and Gene (Gail) Lucht of Ankeny, IA; two nieces, Karen (Roger) Jackson of Garwin, and Kalyn (Brad) Cook of Marion, IA; and many great nephews and nieces. Floriss was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leon Stamp, and brother-in-law Herman Lucht.

"Floris was our baby sitter for years. She would stay with us when ever our parents were out of town. She was a wonderful lady and very loved by by the Sieverding kids. I remember a story book we would make her read to us over and over. Our prayers our with the family. Floris will be deeply missed. Nancy Sieverding Waldschmidt "
