Jackie M Guttenfelder
September 25, 1929 - June 30, 2018

     Jacqueline "Jackie" Margaret Guttenfelder, 88, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Allen House in Atlantic, Iowa.

     Jackie was born on September 25, 1929, to Edwin and Dorothea (Ringleb) Peyton in Avoca, Iowa. She was raised in Atlantic, Iowa, graduating from Atlantic High School with the class of 1947. Jackie was united in marriage to Ronald Guttenfelder on December 7, 1952, in Atlantic. Together, they owned and operated the Guttenfelder's family Century Farm, located just north of Atlantic, for almost 50 years before moving into town.

     She enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch and bridge. Jackie attended many of her kids sporting events in their younger years and later enjoyed attending the grandchildren's events. They spent many vacations in Arizona and later wintered in Arizona for a few years. Jackie liked to travel and enjoyed attending the family reunions. Jackie worked as the receptionist at the Powder Puff for a short time, but her passion was the farm and all the farm animals. She helped Susan show horses with 4-H when she was young. Above all Jackie's greatest love was spending time with her children, her grandchildren and all of her family.

     Jackie is survived by her son, Doug and wife Teresa Guttenfelder, and their children, Alec and Liz, all of Atlantic; her daughter, Susan Briseno of Atlantic, IA, and her children, Hillary (Benji) Lenz and their children, Clay, Peyton and Brinley, all of Manson, IA, Nic (Tracy) Briseno, and their daughters, Eliana, Mariela and Xiomara, all of Ames, IA and DeLesa (Matt) Jeanblanc of Spirit Lake, IA; her sister-in-law, Doris Cook of Atlantic, IA; her nieces, Terri (Scott) Cook-Thielen of Atlantic, Sarah Olsen of Atlantic and Barb (Mike) Andrews of Ft. Collins, CO; other relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Peyton and Dorothea (John) Phalon and her brother-in-law, Richard Cook.

     A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.
