Loyce "Marlene" Hartwig, 79, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018, at Accura Healthcare of Marshalltown under hospice care. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Marlene Hartwig, daughter of Leland and Gladys (Gilmore) Turner, was born on December 17, 1938, on her Grandfather Gilmore's farm outside St. Anthony, Iowa. Marlene graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Clair Hartwig on March 24, 1956, in Des Moines. Three children were born to this union, Dirk, Lezli, and Ross. Marlene was a successful, long-time Marshalltown realtor and served on the Marshalltown Board of Realtors. She also enjoyed renovating houses, particularly those with Marshalltown history. Marlene was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tri-T, NMC, and Elmwood Country Club. She served as a volunteer for several charitable organizations. Marlene spearheaded placing yard flags throughout the community on Independence Day.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Clair; her three children, Dirk, Lezli, and Ross; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her sister, Norma (Bill) Speer. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Eva and Jean.
