Eugene Thomas Van Orsow
February 17, 1939 - July 4, 2018

Eugene "Tom" Van Orsow, 79, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 9, 2018 at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. A visitation will be held at 10:00 am Monday until the time of the service at the church. Laufersweiler- Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy Van Orsow of Fort Dodge; sister, Evelyn Sammon of Faribault, MN; son, Doug (Robyn) Van Orsow of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Pam (Ahmed) Chakroun of Atlanta, GA; son, Greg Van Orsow of Grand Rapids, MN; son, Tom Van Orsow of Chicago, IL; daughter, Kellie (Robert) Vaughn of Chicago, IL; and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Julia (Ost) Van Orsow; and brothers, Vernon, George and Duane (Dewey) Van Orsow.
Eugene Thomas Van Orsow was born February 17, 1939 in Faribault, Minnesota. He attended Bethlehem Academy and following his education he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until his honorable discharge in 1962. On February 23, 1963 he married Katherine Clausen in Spencer, Iowa. They made their home in several communities throughout Minnesota, and in 1978 moved to Fort Dodge. Tom was employed by Sherwin Williams and managed several stores for many years until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, camping, and loved spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
