"My name is Mitchell Hahn. Steve worked for my father at Superior Products Plating in Churubusco from 1972-1979 until the business was destroyed by fire in 1979. His brothers Bob and Tom also worked for my father. I last saw Steve about 20 years ago on a visit to CC, as I live outside of Chicago, about 20 years ago when I ran into him in a store. We chatted for a few minutes. Steve was a vital cog at my father's business. He could weld and fix anything. He was a very good man and helped mentor a lot of us young kids that worked for my dad even though he was only 8 years older than most of us. I remember one time where he created a tool to help us close a valve that was in a hard to reach place. He got out his torch, cut some metal pieces, welded them together, and the tool worked. I had many a lunch with Steve at that greasy spoon next to the fire department. I can't remember the name of the place now as it is long since closed. I contacted my father who is now 81 tonight to let him know as he is in California. He offers his condolences also. I'm very sorry for your loss."
