Esperanza Maria Galshack
December 18, 1930 - July 3, 2018

Esperanza M. Galshack, of Blue Bell, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler. She was 87 years old.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Esperanza was the daughter of the late Rogelio and Juana (Dieguez) Nunez.

Mrs. Galshack was a long time Spanish teacher at Abington High School prior to her retirement in 1996. Esperanza was a parishioner at Epiphany of Our Lord Parish in Blue Bell. She and her husband John enjoyed traveling to interesting places around the country. At home, she delighted in feeding the birds, while keeping her beloved cats from them. Esperanza and John grew grapes and became good winemakers.

Esperanza was preceded in death by her beloved husband John W. Galshack in 2008. She is survived by her niece Gloria Hammers and husband Skip of Daytona Beach, Florida; her cousins, Martha Dieguez and Annette Beatrix Calderin, of Miami, Florida; and Ivo Calderin of Las Palmas, Spain. She will be missed by her long time friends, Bradley Smith of Blue Bell and Carrie Jones of Lansdale.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA and again on Wednesday, July 25, from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Rd, Plymouth Meeting, PA. Esperanza's funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Nordeman as Celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.

Donations in Esperanza's memory to the Artman Home, 250 N. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA 19002 would be appreciated.
