Mary Osborne Snyder of Carmel, IN passed away peacefully at her home on July 6, 2018. Mary was born on June 1, 1925 in Terre Haute, IN to the late John Harding Osborne and Wilhelmina Ermish Osborne. Mary is survived by her children, Christopher (Mary) Snyder, J David (Paula) Snyder, and Paul (Amy) Snyder; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Bette Osborne (Albert) Standish. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Snyder, three sisters, and one brother.
Mary grew up in Terre Haute and Indianapolis, IN with her family and graduated from Shortridge High School. Mary was an avid painter and loved to sew, making several of her husband's suits and many dresses and coats for herself and family members. Mary was an accomplished chef, giving people recipe advice up until a few days ago.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 1-2PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00PM at Leppert Mortuary - Smith Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. 445 E. 111th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46280.
