Edna W. Gillespie
October 10, 1936 - July 4, 2018

Ms. Edna W. Gillespie was born October 10, 1936 in Jackson Tennessee to the late Allie Gillespie and Ethel Gillespie-Scott.
Edna attended Neely grade school and graduated from Denmark High School in Tennessee.
Many years later as a young adult, Edna moved from Tennessee becoming an Indiana Hoosier.
Edna began her calling helping others by working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at three different hospitals before settling for long term employment at the Veterans Administration until her eyesight began to falter.
Edna had been a child of God for much of her 81 years. Edna was always praising God anytime and anywhere; especially by singing her favorite hymnals and stating testimonies of how good God had been to her.
Edna was a longtime member of The Church of The Living God and The Saints of Christ. She attended church regularly until her health prevented her from doing so.
Edna Gillespie departed her physical life journey and began her eternal life journey on Wednesday July 4th, 2018 at the age of 81 years old.
Edna leaves behind to celebrate her life her son, Robert Brewer (Marie), granddaughter Meyah Brewer and grandson Rashard Brewer; her brother Robert Scott of Tennessee and sister Gertrude Little of Detroit. She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers of her church family and a host of cousins along with many friends. Service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at The Church of the Living God and the Saints of Christ 3025 W.16th Street Indianapolis, IN 46222. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
