Thomas Allan Johnson
November 25, 1959 - July 24, 2018

Thomas A. Johnson, 58, of Fort Dodge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, in the presence of loved ones.
A visitation will be on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral with Rev. Nathan Peitsch, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Tom is survived by his fianc, Pam Lentsch of Fort Dodge; daughter, Meisha (Amanda) Johnson of Des Moines; son, Josh (Liz) Johnson of Burnside; siblings, Rocksana Urbanek, Cheryl Gribble, both of Fort Dodge; Duane Johnson of Waterford, WI; Mike Johnson, Tina Harrison, Linda Johnson, Colleen Caster, Otis Johnson and James Johnson, all of Fort Dodge. "Papa Tom" also had 4 grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Josephine (McBride) Johnson; and his sister, Vicki Grander.
Tom was born November 26, 1959 in Salina, KS. He began school in Salina and attended until the age of 15, when his family moved to Fort Dodge in 1974. He continued his education and worked at Carney and Hancock after school until his graduation from Fort Dodge Senior High. Tom also worked for Meade Containers, USG, and the Fort Dodge Labs. On December 3, 1977 he was united in marriage to Sonia Hanson. They had two children together, Meisha and Josh. The couple were later divorced. In 2010, Tom met his best friend and later fianc, Pam Lentsch, who cared lovingly for him through the past few difficult years. Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing (especially trips to Canada), car shows, and vacations to Las Vegas. He was very handy and could be counted on to fix just about anything. He will always be remembered as a loving father, "papa", and friend, and will be missed by many.
Memorials may be left to family discretion.
