Joseph M. Leffler
January 2, 1931 - July 27, 2018

Joseph M. Leffler, 87, of Keokuk, passed away Friday morning, July 27, 2018, at Unity Point Health of Keokuk.

Joseph was born January 2, 1931 in Warsaw, Illinois, the son of Wayne and Bertha Nesbit Leffler.

On August 25, 1951 he married Dorothy Ash in Kahoka, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 30, 2014.

He had lived in Keokuk for 67 years and worked at a sawmill in Kahoka, Missouri, until it closed. He then worked for the city of Keokuk. He and Dorothy were lifetime members of the Southside Boat Club where they tirelessly helped with any project that was under taken. He enjoyed mowing lawns, attending any family function, and his cats. Joe and Dorothy looked forwarded to spending Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve with their neighbors. After his wife died he would also have Sunday morning breakfast with the neighbors.

Joseph is survived by two brothers, Dale and Beverly Leffler of Florence, AZ, and Don and Francis Leffler of Warsaw, IL; four sisters- in- law, Doreen (Bill) Bergman, Wilma (Jessie) Forquer, Zelda (Rockie) Sturm, and Hazel Crowe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Joseph Andrew Leffler, four brothers and two sisters.

A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street. Visitation will precede the service from 12:00 noon until the service begins at 2:00.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Memorials are suggested for Keokuk Animal Services on Carbide Lane.
