Barbara "Bobbie" Eggers, 94, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday, August 04, 2018 at the Alverno.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Lyons Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United States Navy and the Clinton AMVETS. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Barbara Mae Coburn was born on March 25, 1924 in Hicksville, Ohio, the daughter of Estel and Thelma (Kiracofe) Coburn. She graduated from Willard High School in 1942. She then served in the United States Navy from 1944-1945. While in the service she met her husband Ralph H. Eggers and they were married on January 24, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida; he later died on December 30, 2001.
Bobbie was the postmaster at the Andover Post Office for 24 years. She was a member of the Lyons Trinity United Methodist Church and it's Martha Circle, past-president of the Miles American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of NARFE. She enjoyed traveling in the winter with her husband, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
Bobbie is survived by three sons: Jim (Janice) Eggers of Clinton, Stan (Illene) Eggers of Clinton, and Jeff (Julie) Eggers of Clinton; 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and one sister.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Lyons Trinity United Methodist Church.
