James Ivan Wilson
September 1, 1936 - August 4, 2018

James "Ivan" Wilson passed away at his home in Clinton,Iowa on Saturday, August 4, 2018 after a short illness. He was born in rural Wayne Township (near Winfield),Iowa on September 1, 1936 to the late James M. and Maurine M. Wilson. A life-long mid-westerner, Ivan lived in various communities in eastern Iowa, northwest Illinois and northern Missouri; most recently in Clinton Iowa.
Ivan was a proud veteran, serving in the US. Air Force and US. Army from 1954 through 1959. He was also a graduate of Mount Mercy College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. He worked for Cryovac (W.R.Grace) in Cedar Rapids for many years, both as a production foreman and as a field Quality Representative. After retirement, Ivan supplemented his income delivering RVs and campers throughout the United States and Canada.
Ivan loved to be outdoors and owned a cabin at Lake Delhi near Manchester for many years. He was also particularly fond of hunting deer and fishing with his younger brother, cousins,and other friends in northern Missouri, and southeastern Iowa.
He is survived by his brother Larry (Peggy)of Greentop, Missouri, his son, Dean (Judy) of Clinton, Iowa, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, and elder brothers Wayne and Wendel.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the American Humane Society or the donor's local animal shelter.
