John Francis Neifert
September 3, 1929 - August 7, 2018

John Francis Neifert Sr. 88 of Punta Gorda, Florida died on August 7, 2018 in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born on September 3, 1929 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania to Clair W. Neifert and Margaret Nash Neifert. John moved to Port Charlotte from Des Moines, Iowa in January of 2016.

John Graduated from Prospect Park. High School in 1947 in Prospect Park, PA and was awarded an Athletic Basketball Scholarship to St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia, PA. He graduated in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in Business. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired in 1988 from Joseph L. Seagram and Sons, Inc after serving as Supervisor of Eastern PA; State Manager, Vermont and State Manager of Iowa. John was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Norwalk, Iowa and fourth Degree Knighted member of Knights of Columbus. John was an avid golfer, traveler and pool player. He also enjoyed watching sports, reading and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include sons, John F. Neifert Jr. (Julie) and Michael Neifert (Lisa); Daughter, Anne Marie Duko (Tom); Step-sons, Donald and Randolph Quintal, Step-daughters, Rosemarie Quintal, Helene Neville, Dolores Vasquez (Patrick); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen Rouse Neifert.

A mass will be said at St Gabriel's Catholic Church in Norwood, PA on Oct 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. and burial at St Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA following the mass.
