Jeanette M. Pevehouse Davis, 93, of Union, IA, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the Eldora Specialty Care Center in Eldora, IA. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Union Community Church, 402 3rd Street, Union, IA. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Inurnment will follow at Bangor Cemetery. Jeanette was born on December 31, 1924, in rural Union, to Benjamin and Ada (Borton) Harris. She graduated from Union High School in 1943 before going on to William Penn College, graduating in 1944 with a certificate in teaching. After receiving her teaching certificate, Jeanette was hired to teach at a country school in Alden, IA. In 1945, Jeanette married Francis Pevehouse. To this union, two daughters were born. Jeanette and Francis later separated, although they stayed lifelong friends. In 1966, Jeanette married her second husband, Cliff Davis. After his death, she returned to Iowa where she spent her remaining years.
Jeanette is survived by two daughters, Judy (Don) Orgel and Mary Ann Reece, both of Eldora; four grandchildren: Karla (Mike) Dickenson, Andrea (Justin) Thibodeau, Connie (Paul Hefel) Orgel, and Todd (Sara) Reece; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Rowen; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Harris. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Clifford, first husband, Francis, her parents, and a brother, Herman Harris.
