Ronald Leroy Hagood, Sr., 74, of Bixby, Oklahoma, beloved husband, dad and papa, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. He was born in Houston, Texas on October 30, 1943 to Leroy B Hagood and Marie Campbell Hagood. Ron grew up in Brownsville, Texas and graduated from Brownsville High School. There he met Beverly Ann Boeer and they were married in Fort Worth, Texas in 1967.

Ron proudly served his county as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Merrick. Upon returning from Vietnam, he earned a BS in Economics from The University of Texas at Arlington. After graduation, he worked at several engineering and design firms, later starting his own engineering consulting and construction company.

Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and working around the house. He always had a "few" home improvement projects going at a time and could always find time to rebuild an engine. More than anything, he loved to laugh with family and friends. Almost every member of his extended family has been on the receiving end of a good-natured joke, and his grandkids have been left a number of Papa's funny sayings. He was a great husband, dad and papa. We love him dearly and miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Marie Hagood, and his brother, Royce Hagood.

Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly, his son, Ron and wife, Amy, and grandchildren, Bryce and Connor, currently of Bixby, OK; brothers Raymond Hagood and wife, Cyndie of Brownsville, TX, and Richard Hagood and wife, Laura of Pleasanton, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

"So sad to hear of the death of a dear friend. Ron will always be remembered for his witty, and sometimes embarrassing, remarks as several friends gathered for breakfast almost every morning at McDonald's. Ron always had a 'comeback' for any situation or topic mentioned. He was a great friend and was so much fun to be around. Prayers and sympathy are extended to the family of this never-to-be-forgotten man, who will be forever missed. We love you, Ron. Lillie DeRossett, one of the McDonald's gang."
