In loving memory of

Marian Grace Worley
January 30, 1934 - August 31, 2018

Marian Grace (DeVries) Worley, 84, of Greene, Iowa, passed away and went home to live with her Savior on Friday, August 31, 2018, while at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City. She was born on January 30, 1934, on a Franklin County farm 3 miles East of Hampton to John D. and Grace I. (Viet) DeVries.

Marian attended rural West Fork School and then graduated from Sheffield Public School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Donavon Dean Worley on December 5, 1953, at Evangelical United Brethren Church of rural Sheffield. To this union, four children were born: Linda, Carol, Kevin and Glenda.

In her early years, Marian detasseled and hoed corn, cleaned houses, and showed her love for children by babysitting. Most of her life, however, she was a homemaker. Marian often helped Donavon on the farm with many jobs like driving tractors, mowing, doing livestock chores, and a variety of other farm tasks. She also enjoyed helping him with his egg and chicken business. She and Donavon worked together for Butler County REC, reading meters for over 20 years. She was a lifelong member of the West Fork United Methodist Church. Marian served by being president of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday school and bible school teacher, financial secretary and treasurer, and church janitor for many years. She loved baking, especially pies, cakes, cookies, homemade noodles, and bread. Her other hobbies were gardening, bird watching, sewing, collecting bells, and reading, especially to her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed roller skating, neighborhood 500 card parties, bowling, and hosting volleyball parties and making homemade ice cream for family and church functions. Most of all, Marian looked forward to spending time with her family and going on family vacations. A few of her favorites were traveling to Missouri to visit her sisters, going to the state fairs, sightseeing and visiting apple orchards in Wisconsin, and going to the National Dairy Cattle Congress.

Marian is survived by her daughter Linda Pettey (friend David Brinkman) of Rockford, daughter Carol (Allan) Woodley of Parkersburg, son Kevin Worley of Greene, daughter Glenda (Davin) Griffin of Waterloo, grandchildren Emily Pierce, Chadwick Pierce (friend Christine Briggs), Jamie Woodley, Melissa (Corey) Scott, Jessica Woodley (friend Mario Echols), Nathan Woodley (fiancé Keegan Fayram), Clarissa Thomas (friend Travis Hohensee), Sierra Thomas (friend D'Angelo Gafeney), eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, sister Hilda Kreimeyer of Macon, Missouri, sister Carla (Daniel) McVicker of Bevier, Missouri, and brother Kenneth (Bonnie) DeVries of Hampton.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Donavon Worley, her parents John and Grace DeVries, sister Matilda "Tillie" Christensen, brother Larry DeVries, and granddaughter Brittany Ann Sprague.
