Mark Derrig, 56, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
A Time of Sharing will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Friendship Haven Celebration Center, with Time of Prayer at 4:00 PM.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Wagner of Fort Dodge; daughter, Nicole McPeak (Jeremiah) of Rock Island, TN; sisters, Sandy (Dale) Struecker of Fort Dodge and Sharon (Ron) Einerwold of Elkhorn; 3 nieces, Krisiti Trask, and Stacy Rock; and Kari Smith; several step nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; Aunt Dickie; Aunt Shirley; and Uncle Bob.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Derrig; step-dad Charlie Wagner; nephew, Dennis Ramus II; "special cousin" Nikki; and his dog "Harley".
Mark Lawrence Derrig was born on April 3, 1962 in Fort Dodge. He moved with the family to Decatur, IL; where he graduated from Eisenhower High School. He then attended Richland Community College in Decatur, IL and graduated from Louisville Technical Institute in Louisville, KY. He had numerous jobs in drafting and engineering from nuclear power plants to drafting and engineering companies. Mark's most recent job had been with the Webster County Engineering Department until becoming disabled. On May 9, 1981, he was united in marriage to Tracie Dittmer and the couple made their home in Decatur. They were later divorced. On October 11, 1988, he was united to marriage to Pamela Allen and they made their home in Austin, IN. Their daughter Nicole, was born to this marriage. The couple later divorced. Mark was an avid hunter and fisherman. He truly loved his dog Harley and raising his Vizsla's.
