"I just heard of Kirk's passing. I am so sorry and find it hard to believe. I am a "older" lady who worked at Baker's when Kirk did. He was a amazing young man and we shared his love of fishing with the same passion that my husband does. He always shared his "big fish" stories with me and I shared my husbands with him. Just so hard for me to accept this. Sending my love to all his family; Shirley Ruge"

"I remember many, many good times with Kirk and his brothers growing up at Foose's trailer park on RR3 just outside of Glenwood. We may have got into a little mischief from time to time, but most of it was really harmless stuff young men do growing up. I recall the 2 of us doing a little partying which led us to the city baseball complex late one rainy summer night (probably about 1 or 2 AM). We were trying to figure out how to turn the field lights on and when we finally did, realized with low clouds that it lit up half the town!!!.... we couldn't get them to turn off so Kirk said, "let's get the F×c% outa here Smurf". We jumped in my car and I was gonna head back through town and Kirk was like, "now way man, that's stupid, cops will be coming from that way, head up the hill to the church parking lot and kill the lights". So I thought that was a smart idea and we did just that. No sooner did we get parked and lights out when sure enough, here came the law. We watched them fumble around in the rain for at least 15 - 20 minutes trying to get the lights out while we sat in the dry car and laughed our buts off! Time and life take people in a lot of different directions which separate us from friends we experienced life with, shared laughs with and grew up with. I'm sad Kirk isn't here anymore! I regret not reaching out over the years to attempt to stay in touch. My heart goes out to all who suffer from this loss. Kirk was a good friend, great person and will be missed. His laugh was so infectious! I raise my glass in celebration of the life, the memories and the legacy he left behind. I love and miss you my friend. May the heavens greet you with abundant fish, green grass and blue skies. Your friend, Kevin Sarff 559-593-1836"

"Kirk was my boss at Baker's for two years. He was a simple guy who just wanted to relax and fish, but he had a lot to teach me too. He was always trying to make me laugh and cheer me up when I was stressed. I know he stood out as a kind easy going person everyone got a long with. I'm grateful I got to work with him as long as I did. Prayers to his family. Amand Patton"
