In loving memory of

Suzanne Reeder Talbott
March 10, 1927 - September 3, 2018

Suzanne Reeder Talbott
Suzy, as she was known, passed away at age 91 on Monday September 3, 2018 after a short illness. Born March 10, 1927, she was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, attending Broad Ripple High School and Butler University. She was preceded in death by Joe, her husband of 66 years, and is survived by their two children, Diana (Talbott) Klemme of Atlanta, Georgia, and Bruce Talbott of Indianapolis, and 'near- daughters' Cindy Watson Hiday of Indianapolis, and Cathy Watson Harvey of Princeton, Indiana. Also surviving her are her brother-in-law John Talbott of Indianapolis, cousin Shirley Braun Jones, and Shirley's daughters Julie Jones Clark of Indianapolis, and Janet Jones Shields of Atlanta. Her niece Jeannine Thurston Waldock and grand-niece Jillian of Indianapolis also survive.
Suzy was beloved by many - young and old - for her infectious laugh and her ability to connect with all ages. In recent years she has been active in meeting and welcoming new residents to The Forum at the Crossing, the independent living facility where she lived for seven years. She and Joe were members of the Irvington Dance Club and the Riviera Club, where both Joe and Suzy served on the Board of Directors at different times. She taught piano to many young people in her earlier years, showing them how to learn to play popular songs rather than drilling on complex pieces. Suzy had also volunteered at Riley Children's Hospital and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an appendant association of the Masons.
There will be no visitation; a graveside service will be held Saturday, September 22nd, 2:30 pm at Union Chapel Cemetery, 8306 Union Chapel Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240, 83rd and Keystone; friends and family welcome.
Condolences can also be offered online through Leppert Mortuary, http://www.leppertmortuary.com/obits/ In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Riley Children's Foundation at Riley Children's Foundation (www.rileykids.org)

"Our condolences go out to the whole family and Bruce and Diana. I know this is a rough time in your lives but Suzy lived a long 91 years and seemed to enjoy life to its fullest. Losing a mother is the hardest thing in the world, I lost my mother when she was only 59, very quickly also. She is now at home and at peace with our heavenly father and with her husband Joe. You all have been in our prayers and will continue to be in our prayers. May God give you comfort and peace to get through this day. Love, Danny and Debra Ratliff."

"Suzy was such a dear, kind woman. Six years ago, I was looking for the perfect retirement community for my parents, Pete and Terry Reigert, who were moving back to Indiana from Arizona. When I visited The Forum at the Crossing, I was put in touch with Suzy, who was known to offer tours of her apartment. It was the same floorplan as the one I was considering for my parents. Since they would be moving to a new place here, sight unseen, Suzy's hospitality was invaluable to me! She always had a kind greeting and sincere enthusiasm for life. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family. I will miss Suzy, but remember her fondly."
