Thomas E. "Tom" Norrod
November 7, 1940 - September 5, 2018

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas E. "Tom" Norrod, age 77, of Washington, Indiana and formerly of Overton County, will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Pat Kelly will officiate. Burial will be in the Grant Norrod Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m., at Speck Funeral Home.

Tom passed from this life on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at the IU Simon Cancer Center with his daughter Melissa at his side in Indianapolis, IN. He was born in Monroe, TN to the late Herman and Clancy Sells Norrod, on November 7, 1940. Tom previously owned and operated a service station in Livingston, but retired after many years working as an above ground coal miner. He was a member of the Washington Church of Christ.

Tom married Janie Sue Buck Norrod on December 2, 1961 and she survives in Washington, IN. They have two children Thomas "Mark" Norrod of Springfield, TN and daughter Melissa Jane Norrod Schnarr of Washington, IN; grandson, Landon Norrod of Greenbrier, TN, son of Mark Norod and Robin Baggett; granddaughters, Ashley and Kylee Schnarr, daughters of Scot and Melissa Norrod Schnarr of Washington, IN; brothers, Gerald Norrod, Donald Norrod, and Roy Norrod all of Monroe, TN; sister, Betty Norrod Ledbetter of Monroe, TN.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer, Paul, and Landon Norrod who passed as a child, and Glenn and Bethel Norrod; sister, Helen Norrod Reeser.
