Punta Gorda, Florida- June Suller, 76, formally of East Sandwich, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family September 3, 2018 in Punta Gorda, Florida. June fought tenaciously for nine months but finally lost her battle with leukemia. June was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut December 27, 1941, she graduated from Shelton High School, where she met and married her high school sweetheart. After high school June moved to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina to be with Pete while he served in the United States Airforce. June then resided with her family in Sandwich for 25 years, where she volunteered at the Henry T Wing School and was instrumental in establishing their very first grammar school library. 1980-1990 she was a very active member of the "Glass town Players" (a local theater group). Later she worked as an Office Manager for a Software Development company in Wareham, before retiring to Punta Gorda.
June and Pete spent most of their best days sailing the Caribbean. Their adventures included trips to the "U.S & British" Virgin Islands, Tortola, St Johns, Anguilla, Jamaica, and Grenada. When they weren't boating June loved vacationing in the Florida Keys, or entertaining with friends. June's never endless devotion for physical fitness, specifically running, won her many merits and accolades in her life... She dedicated countless hours of training for many 5Ks,10Ks and % marathons with a committed group of women/friends known as the "Running Chix". Some of these races included the "Gasparilla" in Tampa, or the % marathon at Disney. June was a true inspiration to many women.
June enjoyed any time she could spend with her four grandchildren. Her infectious smile and zest for life will be missed. June was devoted to the love of her life and soul mate, Pete...

"Rest in peace, June. Remembering the times getting lost in Pine Rock trying to get to an SKS meeting at your house. Needed to tie a string to the old firehouse door. My sympathy to you, Pete. May your fond memories help you find peace. Sandy Mattson Nesteriak"
