Bonnie M. Bell
August 14, 1929 - September 10, 2018

A funeral service was held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Tom Schlund officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery.

Bonnie Mae Bell was born August 14, 1929 to Thomas and Matilda (Baas) Ketelsen in West Bend, Iowa where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1946. After high school she remained on the family farm helping her father, then worked part time at the AFC office.

Bonnie married Loren Bell on May 29, 1953 at Peace Lutheran Church in West Bend. They lived in Algona and Corwith before settling on a farm south of Algona where together they enjoyed raising many kinds of animals for over 50 years. Bonnie was also employed by Diagonal Grocery Store and The Algona Reminder before having a fulfilling 30+ year career working at Good Samaritan Society where she enjoyed taking care of and visiting with the residents.

Bonnie loved spending time with her family and inviting people in for popcorn and Pepsi. She and Loren were excellent dancers who enjoyed a variety of music. Bonnie enjoyed playing cards, baking, cooking, gardening, bird watching, and growing flowers. County fairs and attending 4-H events were always highlights for her. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona.

Bonnie died on September 10, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Algona at the age of 89.

Bonnie is survived by her son Bill and his wife Lori of Marshall, MN and their sons, Andrew (fiancé Brittney Schultze) and Jonathon; daughter-in-law, Colleen of Algona; granddaughter, Emily (fiancé Lindsey Cook); sister, Patty Gronbach of Algona; brother-in-law, Bob Bovy of Verona, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren; son, Chuck; daughter-in-law, Eileen; parents Thomas and Matilda; and sisters, Elaine Kinseth, Betty Elbert and Kathy Bovy.
