Kenneth D. Holdcraft

Riverside, Ohio-Kenneth D. Holdcraft, 100, passed away September 3, 2018, at his home.

Kenny came to Dayton, Ohio from his birthplace Muncie, Indiana in 1941 with a desire to "work on airplanes" at Wright Field. His skills as a machinist were in demand as the nation prepared for the coming war. He loved the challenge of working as a Machinist and later Foreman of the Materials Central Zone Shop in support of Air Research and Development Command of the United States Air Force. He served in the United States Army during WWII and returned to WPAFB where he retired from civilian service in 1975. Kenny was an avid gardener, traveler, fisherman, and patron of local restaurants.

Kenny was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his brother, Eugene Holdcraft; sisters, Evelyn Fink, Marjorie Luttrell and Betty Bailey of Muncie, Indiana; son, K. Terry (Carol) Holdcraft; grandsons, Michael (Bobbi) Holdcraft, John (Karla) Holdcraft; granddaughters, Deanna (Shannon Neil) Holdcraft, and Melanie (Joshua) Haytas; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Griffin, Dylan, Keelyn, Adalyn, Landen, Lila, Kevin, and Sophia.

Kenny was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Pearl (Flatter) Holdcraft; brothers, Virgil and Richard Holdcraft; loving wife, Jane E. (Davidson) Holdcraft; and son, Michael E. Holdcraft.

Cremation was entrusted to Baker-Hazel & Snider of Dayton, Ohio. A Memorial Service for both Kenny and Jane will be held at Elm Ridge Memorial Park Mausoleum North Chapel, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304 on Friday, September 14, 2018, at 2:00 pm. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the National Museum of the United States Air Force, 1100 Spaatz Street, Dayton, Ohio 45431, or a charity of choice.
